1. What is Roswell Shorts?

Roswell Shorts is an international short film festival hosted in Roswell, New Mexico, showcasing independent films from one minute up to one hour in length, with a special emphasis on innovation and storytelling.

2. When and where does the festival take place?

The inaugural edition of Roswell Shorts takes place September 26–27, 2025, in Roswell, New Mexico at the International UFO Museum & Research Center, 114 North Main St. from 4pm to 8pm each day.

3. Is the festival open to the public and how much will it cost to attend?

Yes! The festival is open to all. Tickets, day passes, and VIP packages will be available for purchase on our site closer to the event. Prices range from $10 for one day, $15 for both days, or $20 includes both days plus one admission access to the museum. 

4. How can I submit a film?

You can submit your film via our FilmFreeway page. We accept short films of any genre, with a total running time up to 60 minutes in length, including narrative, documentary, animation, and experimental.

5. What are the submission deadlines and entry fees?

The deadline for submissions is September 1st, 2025, We only require ONE entry fee of $25 (USD) per project, which qualifies projects to be considered for all applicable awards (to be determined). 

6. Are AI-generated films eligible?

Yes! 

7. Do I need to attend in person if my film is selected?

While not required, attending the festival is highly encouraged. It offers a unique chance to network, participate in Q&As, and connect with other creators and audiences.

8. Will there be awards?

Yes. Roswell Shorts is an IMDb-qualifying festival and offers awards and certificates in multiple categories. There will be an awards ceremony and reception included in the event. Details will be listed soon.

9. How can I volunteer or help out?

10. Is this a family-friendly event?

Mostly, yes. While many films are suitable for all audiences, some screenings may feature mature content. These will be clearly marked on the schedule.

11. Where do I find the screening schedule and list of films showing?

Here on this website, once the final announcements of selections are made. This will happen at least 2 weeks prior to the event, on or before Friday, September 12th. 

12. How can I become a sponsor or partner?

13. Will there be a virtual option?

We are exploring the possibility of a hybrid festival in the future, but not for the 2025 edition
